The day of judgement came and went. Heaven and hell unleashed their minions upon the world as it spiralled into apocalyptic anarchy. Against this backdrop of demons angels and cyberpunks, you take the role of a god like being.
To remake reality you must collect enough spiritual energy in an ancient computer matrix, to ascend to godhood. To begin with you start with just a hand of cards and an archive deck, filled with technological equipment and pieces of the all important Matrix.
To build your powerbase you must first play locations, which both provide a home for your minions and the energy to play them. By tapping locations you can pay for weapons and special abilities. When characters are called into play they can protect these locations from enemy attack. As well as locations in the material plain you can create a virtual world by building sections of the matrix.
The matrix is a supercomputer that stores power called Tau. Certain characters can also exist in the matrix by Jacking in, so they can defend and attack in cyberspace. The object of the game is to collect a set amount of Tau and achieve Ascension. Tau can be gained by destroying your opponents territory, it must then be stored in the Matrix.
With combat involving both cyberspace and realtime, along with voting and apocalypse cards, the game is very complex.
